The key to 41 is to use alternate interior angles to find the angle in the small triangle on the top and the right triangle. You can then use the Law of Sines on the top triangle to find the hypotenuse of the right triangle. The SOH CAH TOA sine ratio will find you the length of z and Pythagoras will find you the length of y.
For 43, in 15 minutes, the boat sails 2.5 miles. You can use this length on the triangle to find one of the two distances in the triangle. The length d forms a right triangle. You can use the SOH CAH TOA cosine ratio to find d.
